8TH sTREET ROOF TERRAce

bROOKLYN, New York

This Brooklyn brownstone and a previous addition fully filled the lot.  Its renovation included new landscapes over the rear yard addition, on top of the building at the roof level and at the building front.  At the lower level terrace a walk extends out to a circular gathering space framed by a curve topped trellis backed by bamboo.  A knee high slatted edge containing ornamental grasses arcs out to interlock with the circular trellis and screens skylights to the space below.  The terrace also has a dining area and grill.  The rooftop terrace has a seating area surrounded by planters with a panoramic view.
